Disclaimer, Privacy Policy, and Terms of Use for Problems.school
Disclaimer
Problems.school is an experimental, open-participation tool designed for use in workshops, classrooms, and live sessions. It is provided "as-is" without warranties of any kind.
The AI-generated titles, summaries, categories, and tags are produced by machine learning models and may not perfectly reflect the intent of the original submission. These outputs are best-effort interpretations, not editorial endorsements or factual assertions.
Problems submitted through this platform reflect the views of individual participants, not of Innocence Theory, its founders, or any affiliated organizations.
We do not guarantee uptime, data persistence, or availability of the service. The platform may be taken offline, reset, or modified at any time without notice.
Privacy Policy
We take privacy seriously, especially because Problems.school is designed to work without accounts or login.
What we collect:
• Problem text you submit — stored as entered, plus AI-generated metadata
• An optional anonymized name you choose — this is not verified or linked to a real identity
• A randomly generated session ID stored in your browser's local storage — used only to prevent duplicate voting and enforce per-session submission limits
• A hashed (one-way, irreversible) version of your session identifier — we never store raw session IDs server-side
What we do NOT collect:
• Real names, emails, phone numbers, or any personally identifiable information
• IP addresses in any readable form — if used at all, they are hashed irreversibly before storage
• Cookies for tracking or advertising
• Any data from your device beyond what you explicitly type into the submission form
How data is used:
• Submitted problems are displayed publicly on the live board
• AI processes your text to generate a title, summary, category, and tags — this happens server-side and your text is sent to an AI language model API for this purpose
• Aggregated, anonymized statistics (total problems, categories, vote counts) may be displayed on the Credits page
• We do not sell, share, or monetize your data in any way
Data retention:
• Data from a session may be retained for the duration of the event and a reasonable period afterward for reflection purposes
• We may clear all submission data periodically
Third-party services:
• AI language model API — processes problem text server-side for synthesis
• Supabase — database hosting and real-time delivery
• Vercel — frontend hosting
Children:
• This platform is not directed at children under 13. If used in a classroom setting with minors, it is the responsibility of the session facilitator to ensure appropriate use.
Terms of Use
By using Problems.school, you agree to the following terms:
Acceptable use:
• Submit genuine problems relevant to the session or community you're participating in
• Be respectful — do not submit content that is hateful, threatening, harassing, sexually explicit, or illegal
• Do not attempt to manipulate votes, spam submissions, or circumvent rate limits
• Do not submit personal information about others without their consent
Content ownership:
• You retain ownership of the text you submit
• By submitting, you grant Innocence Theory a non-exclusive, royalty-free license to display your submission on the platform, process it through AI, and include it in aggregated statistics
• AI-generated outputs (titles, summaries, tags) derived from your submission are provided for the benefit of all participants
Enforcement:
• We reserve the right to remove any submission at our discretion
• Abuse of the platform (spam, hate speech, system manipulation) may result in session-level restrictions
• We do not currently offer a moderation dashboard — flagged content is handled manually if necessary
Limitation of liability:
• Innocence Theory is not liable for any damages arising from the use of this platform
• The platform is provided for educational and community purposes — it is not a professional service and should not be relied upon as such
Changes:
• We may update these terms at any time. Continued use constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.
